For the Louis Armstrong Hot Five recordings on CD, we highly recommend the 2000 Sony boxset, Louis Armstrong the Complete Hot Five and Hot Seven recordings. This set is nothing short of the finest quality reissue, helmed by Phil Schaap. Unfortunately this CD is out of print and the set currently in print from Sony uses heavily filtered and out of pitch transfers, but the box set can easily be found secondhand.
