Every Monday Hot Club Meeting

Every Monday night is a listening event at the Hot Club. Things start with a thematic set of records, presented by Matthew “Fat Cat” Rivera or another Hot Club programmer, followed by a show-and-tell set of records from atendees. Plus there’s free red beans and rice!


Every Thursday Jazz 101

6:30-9:30pm

General Admission $25 - Members $15

Jazz 101 is an ongoing series focusing on foundational figures, recordings and topics of Jazz with deep listening and occasional guest experts. Each event begins with a lecture followed by an open-ended listening session.

Recordings of each session will be available for members.


Thursday March 26th John Coltrane on Shellac

Join us for a special presentation on John Coltrane’s music as first heard on 78rpm shellac records. Together, we’ll listen closely and trace the arc of his early recordings from 1949 (Dizzy Gillespie), 1953 (Earl Bostic) and 1954 (Johnny Hodges) to be heard from rare original sources. Hosted by Yasuhiro "Fuji" Fujioka, one of the world’s foremost experts on the music of John Coltrane

Trombonist Mariel Bildsten has earned global distinction through her performances with Jon Batiste, Roy Hargrove, Dee Dee Bridgewater and many more. Join us Sunday March 29th for a truly unique, intimate listening event!
